Finishing Silver & Copper Jewelry $50

Advanced Beginner – suitable for anyone who has taken a wire or basic metal smithing class.

You’ve now made several pieces of jewelry with silver or copper wire or sheet metal. It might be beginning to darken or have a few scratches. This class will take you to the next step to professionally finish your pieces and protect from tarnish. We will be making a simple pair of earrings to practice our techniques. Topics covered are removing tool marks, use of liver of sulfur patina to bring out textures, and final polishing using flex shaft polishing tools. We will finish by using Protecta-Clear to seal and resist tarnish. Feel free to bring items you made in previous classes to refine and finish.

Kit Fee: The kit for the class will be added to your ticket on the day of class.

Students arriving late hold up the entire class — please be respectful of others by arriving early for class. If students do not contact the bead shop 24 hours prior to start of class, or do not show for the class, the class fee will not be refunded.
