This is a bracelet that I’ve taught before but this time, we include another stitch to each end to give us a nice taper so that we can add any type of class – I chose a button with loop. You can really have fun with colors in this bracelet, adding a side bead to help hide the thread along the edge. Ndebele (herringbone) is an easy stitch to learn and works up quickly!

Review and practice metalsmith skills in a fun and informative class, transforming sheet metal and wire into wearable art. The shaping, forming, texturing, and joining of sheet metals are techniques quite different from the same in metal clays. For those accustomed to working with the latter medium, getting back to the fundamentals of metalsmithing is very refreshing!
Skills include sawing basic shapes, drilling and piercing sheet metal to create bezels, and make holes for decorative rivets and ear wires. Also, shape and solder bezel wire in fabricating a cabochon setting. Texture with a hammer, using best practices to achieve consistency throughout. And more!
Intermediate level for this project includes the following: — Round, not teardrop, cabs — 1-2 jump rings connecting the copper to bezel setting — 3-4 handmade rivets — Can have a hole for the ear wire connection
Advanced level can include 1-4 of the following: — Round or oval cabochons — Up to 2 jump rings connecting copper to the bezel setting — Up to 5 rivets — Soldered ear wire instead of a hole

Chenille flat stitch is very beautiful, especially if done with opaque beads in contrasting color, because this allows you to really see how the beads sit together. This is a light and airy stitch that feels really nice on your skin. While this is a beginner class, if you’ve got a bit of bead weaving under your belt, you’ll enjoy it much more.

I love adding leather to my projects, as I’m sure you know! I taught this earring class years ago and was urged to bring it back, so here it is! These cute and lightweight earrings are based off making a typical wrap bracelet, only I have added an embellishment to the side. These earrings make up fast but you have to be patient and detailed in your work. Let’s go!
